The Law Of The Excluded Middle

In logic, the law of excluded middle (or the principle of excluded middle) states that for any proposition, either that proposition is true or its negation is true.

In spiritual enlightenment, the equivalent states “Do, or don’t do, there is no middle ground”. This is effectively what Eckhart Tolle says in The Power Of Now.

This basically means there is no such thing as “trying”, you either succeed or fail in doing something. This is one of the Transactional Analysis drivers.

For me this is the key point I’ve learned over the last few weeks. The extent to which I was wasting time and effort in the middle ground has been made clear.
