A few years ago I was lucky to experience a practice known as Circling. It builds interpersonal relationships at a fundamental level starting with eye contact.
One of the key concepts is Holding Space for someone being Circled. You do this by sitting still in a semi-circle around them and gazing directly into their eyes. It’s weird but it’s great for overcoming issues.
You should try it.
In the present case I spend a lot of time on my own so I choose to Hold Space for the universe by gazing straight ahead. It’s a good way of meditating. After all the universe Holds Space And Time for me. 🙂
