Happiness

I’m sure you’ve heard the advice: “Do as you please every moment of every day and you’ll be happy”. I’ve tried it for the last decade or so and I’m sorry to say it doesn’t work.

This is basically the same thing as “living in the moment”. The trouble is you never get to finish anything properly because you’ve got bored long before then.

As far as I can tell this is the “try harder” driver. If anyone advises you to go down this route, take care because it could be a case of “out of the frying pan into the fire”.

Alternative approaches:

  • Do as your heart desires … leads to Egomania in my case
  • Follow your gut … haven’t tried that one yet

This entire blog is a case of doing things in the moment.
